We rarely use our car top carrier, so these seemed like a great price given how little I expect to use them. Fit our 2021 VW Atlas without issue, pretty much at the maximum length. Once clamped on they seem very strong. My only gripe is that I retightened them several times just to be safe. When doing so I found they had become a little loose. I think the rubber grips had compressed a bit, or chamged size from temperature differences. Fortunately after a few adjustments they remained tight.Bought an used one from Amazon warehouse and I think I paid around $40 for it, put it on my X5 in less than 10 minutes, very easy installation and the crossbar appears to be very sturdy, definitely happy about this purchase.Just as described. But I was unfamiliar with this type of crossbar. Is it the first vehicle I bought that didn't have them when I bought it. Nonetheless, the item came and was actually very easy to install. The connecting unit on the ends with the key and the Allen wrench..... before purchasing seemed rather a flimsy and uncertain process for installing..... But the patience of my wife was all we needed. There were no instructions in the box. The box came open on the end, but that's on me I bought a good as new used item from Amazon. I didn't worry because if anything was not right I would be treated as if I bought a new item on the return road. But I didn't need it. I had my own Allen wrench. Luckily there were no other parts. The bars are installed and I have the basket rack installed onto it now. The rack came yesterday and we installed that onto the cross bars. That rack's not going anywhere and there is absolutely no give me shimmy in the crossbars whatsoever. They are extremely durable and for the money very great and sound solution.Love these and the the fact that the lock, and can be put on and removed easily. Very sturdy worked great.Would be 5 stars if not for the whistling above 35 mph.Cool thing inguessEl producto me encantoThe Cargoloc 2-piece 52" aluminum roof top cross bar set is definitely money well spent. They came with easy to understand directions which made them simple to install, and they look great. I purchased two sets, one for our 2019 Mini Countryman and one for our 2018 Jeep Renegade for a road trip we went on from central Florida to the Georgia mountains. We took both vehicles as my daughter and her family used our jeep.I had a full car topper luggage bag on the Mini and put a cargo basket on the Jeep with a full car topper luggage bag in it, and neither system budged during the trip. Although, I'd highly recommend checking the cargo bars and your load periodically during Your trip as I did, just to be safe.Safe travels y'all!!!Bought these for our 2008 ML320 so I can get plywood or other things that wont fit in the cabin. I don't think you'll find crossbars of this quality at this price: well constructed, light to handle, good quality aluminum bars. They don't feel light duty, I'm quite impressed, especially for the price. I've been looking for something like these to save myself the hassle of borrowing a truck. I haven't hauled anything on them yet, but based on how sturdy they feel attached to the roof rails, I think they'll handle the 150lb rating no problem. Very easy to install, 1 integrated Allen socket at each end to tighten to the rails, took me about 10min to get them where I wanted them. Next time it'll probably take half that time as I marked the rails with a black Sharpie dot so I know where I had the rack clamps attached. Outside to outside is about 52", definitely wide enough for plywood and lashing points.Great fit on my 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. Subtracted one star because one cannot unlock and remove the key -- key is forced to stay in the lock while unlocked. Makes it just a bit more tedious to install/adjust than it would otherwise be. These racks are actually VERY tedious to adjust, but otherwise work well enough.UPDATE: I have since discovered the "Eklind 91610 5 mm Ball-Hex Screwdriver" (available on Amazon) which is a much better alternative to the stock hex key. Adjusting the clamps is a lot easier with that.UPDATE: After only 6-7 uses, these have died. The tightening mechanism relies upon captive nuts held in place by.. plastic. One of the nuts has stripped the plastic and now spins freely, making them almost impossible to remove or reinstall. On close examination, the failure was due to a cheaply malformed adjusting bolt with extra lumps of metal on the threads. When adjusted to a wide-ish with, the lumps of metal jammed in the adjusting nut, causing it to stop turning on the bolt and instead just strip out of its plastic holder.NOT RECOMMENDED.2018 Toyota RAV4 LEI just ordered these as I did not want to spend huge money on other brands. 75.00 shipped to the door and the quality seems very decent. I did not have to disassemble them to fit my roof rails on my 18 RAV4 like the other reviewer mentioned. (Maybe the company changed the length of bolt)Took me 10 minutes to install.Anyways, seems good and sturdy and looks decent. Will update review if I have any issues. My wife got me a $1000 kayak for my birthday. I ordered this rack, along with some J-racks, and installed them. On or first trip out, the metal twisted, one of the 2 racks broke off, we were on the highway and I had to pull over which took a few hundred feet to do as there were cars and trucks behind us. The kayak was damaged and discarded. Didn't even get to use it one time. We went 5mph LESS than their requested speed, and the kayak weighed 67lb -- well under their limit. We did everything we were supposed to do. Overall cost of all the damage was over $1200. If you're willing to waste that money and hours of your day while adding stress and losing a sentimental gift, then this roof rack is perfect for you! I definitely would NOT recommend this. Just stick to a name brand like Thule. I wish I did when my dealership told me to.Ordered this for my 2014 Jeep Cherokee North. Honestly was a pain to put on for this vehicle because of the super wide roof rails Jeep has on these vehicles. The only way to get it to fit is to loosen the grip until the square bolt falls off and the grip comes apart in two pieces (which wouldn't happen with most vehicles). Then you have to blindly attach the square bolt back into the screw which can be challenging if you dont have the right tools.Once everything was installed I was pleasantly pleased. Very light whistling at 80km/h. I dont mind the whistling because I'm generally playing my music or the radio pretty loud. Canoe season is almost upon us..For the money you wont find anything better. If you dont buy this, good luck spending $600 on a Thule/Rhino Rack/Yakima. I almost ordered one of those, and I saved over $500 with this.
