The cage was packed well enough. However, there were little white styrofoam balls all over everything, which I didn't understand, since they were packed in the soft fabric-like foam, not styrofoam. They were a pain to clean off because they stuck to the glass and were in the grooves and holes. After getting the pieces cleaned, I read the instructions. I noticed immediately that I did not get the PVC tray that's supposed to go in the bottom. Disappointing, since that was one of the main features that prompted me to order this, but didn't make the cage unusable. Also, the piece numbers on the instructions are not correct, and it is hard to see details in the instruction photos, so you'll have to figure out which pieces are which by figuring out how they fit together. The taller long piece is the back. I had initially put the front on the back, but when there was a gap, I tried the other piece, which fit. With trial and error, I was able to get it all put together. As I said, I'm disappointed that I didn't receive the tray, but once I figured out how to put it together, it's still a nice cage and works great.
