I was worried given how many reviews noted the item came broken or missing pieces. For a non-returnable item, it was a big price for little piece of mind. Much to my surprise it came without damage. I bought this for a chipmunk that we rescued as an adolescent and can’t be returned to the wild (we tried, twice…). I wanted to recreate his natural habitat and top loading tanks weren’t deep enough and too cumbersome with the lid. This tank had 10” between the doors and the bottom, plenty of space to fill with substrate so he can dig tunnels and the front entry makes it easy for me to get inside for cleaning or upgrades. He loves it and has lots of levels for climbing and activities. It’s a beautiful tank and I’ve received lots of compliments! I do not have water in the tank so I can’t tell you if it leaks. Lock is good and handles were a nice touch to reduce fingerprints.However, some issues to be aware of before ordering. It’s not rocket science to put it together, but it wasn’t easy either. Took me an hour by myself because of the delicate nature and awkwardness of the glass panels.The directions are poor and a link to a video would have been amazing, but there was not one. The glass pieces were labeled, which was a big help and they give you special gloves for assembly, but you also have to assemble the joints and they are flimsy. Putting this together is really a two person job. I used electrical tape to hold the back joints in place so I could insert the back walk. The front joints are connected to the door panels (I spent forever trying to figure that out) and do not look like the back panel, so technically the side panel is only held in securely on one side of the panel. As I was placing suction cupped items on the side panel (the seagrass hammocks and a plastic water dish) I had to push from both sides of the glass at the same time or you risk popping the side panel out and breaking the glass. I had to assemble on the floor so I could be tall enough to slide the panels in (Im 5’3), but then the empty tank was too heavy to lift on to the table stand once complete. I had to wait for help and then stress that picking it up would crack or break it. Once together the system doesn’t feel particularly sturdy as the joints aren’t really connected.The other issue is the finger prints and glare. Unless its dark in the house, the glare and reflection off the glass impedes viewing and Im still cleaning prints off from adding the inside items. This isnt a deal killer and probably true of all glass tanks, but the glass in all directions seems to exasperate this…not a manufacturer issue, just something to be mindful of with placement because unless you put it on a stand with wheels you can’t really move it around due to the issues with sturdiness. Put it together as close to where it will remain as possible.Overall I’m happy and was glad I purchased. Shipping was quick. Box was heavy AF and arrived damaged, so I can see how pieces could get broken, but everything besides the bottom piece seemed to be packed really well.Super easy to set up and seems like top quality for the price. Our bearded dragon loves all the extra room in his cage now.Finally, a perfect fit for my shelf and my Kenyan sand boa! I love the depth of this tank, so many others are so narrow at only 12 inches wide - 18 inches gives her plenty of room to stretch out! I filled it with plenty of things for her to explore and she really seems to be enjoying the new space. I like that it's collapsible for travel and lighter weight than a standard terrarium. The doors and lid seem secure and so far my snake has not managed to escape. I use a small halogen heat lamp with this - so long as you don't put it too close to the edge of the lid, it's fine.The packaging was very sturdy and nothing arrived broken. Took me about 20 minutes to put it all together, instructions were very clear and simple. If you can assemble prefab furniture, you can do this.Being on a budget, I had to find an aquarium that would house my sudden adoption of a Russian tortoise while being large enough and cheap enough to do so. This knock-down tank is amazing! It was easy to put together and sturdier than I expected. I love the rest area, a third of the tank is darkened where the animal can go and hide from light, heat and general craziness of the household. The metal screen is surprisingly sturdy and I'm very thankful because my cat won't stay off of it. I can put my reptizoo dual lamp directly on top of the screen. It's an expanded metal and not just a flimsy window screen. All in all, I'm thoroughly impressed at having gotten something of seemingly great quality for the price that I paid. I believe this would have been a $400 or $500 tank if I had tried to buy something similar in a pet store, (i looked and they didn't even have 50 gallon terrariums).Our leopard gecko loves it!Just tried to put this together and found that 3 parts are missing. Amazon doesn't allow for missing parts to be sent, and only offers full returns. But disassembling the entire tank piece by piece and repackaging it (all glass pieces and foam) is effectively impossible, so essentially I'm completely out of luck. I also ordered a thermometer from the same manufacturer (would not assemble without modification) and a lamp that didn't have bulbs. Basically scammed out of $300 by the manufacturer and Amazon is no help. Buyer beware, it seems once you have a high ranking on Amazon you and your monopoly are free to scam folks.
